During the period from January till August 2015, PJSC “Zaporizhstal” has invested about 130 million UAH in improvement of the work safety system of employees.
The key activity of PJSC “Zaporizhstal” is ensuring industrial safety and labor protection, life conservancy and health maintenance of the Works employees. A number of programs focused on improving industrial safety, improvement of working conditions, industrial life and health care are acting on the Works. As part of these initiatives, the Works systematically implements the best international practices in the field of work safety.
The enterprise consistently invests funds in improvement of personal protective equipment (PPE), purchasing the PPE from the world’s best manufacturers. In particular, for the purchase of working clothes and safety shoes it was sent about 29 million UAH.
One of the main directions of work safety development at the enterprise is prevention of visual organ microtraumas. In order to provide workers with safety glasses from the world’s best manufacturers, PJSC “Zaporizhstal” carried out industrial tests of several samples of the personal protective equipment in production departments. Following the results of tests and workers’ opinion it was decided to purchase the most efficient safety glasses made by Univet, Uvex and DeltaPlus companies. Products of these companies made a best showing; it is characterized by high quality and reliability, certified according to strict international standards of work safety. During the first decade of September all employees of PJSC “Zaporizhstal” will be provide with sets of Univet (Italy), Uvex (Germany), DeltaPlus (France) safety glasses and accessories: lace to wear, microfiber tissues and soft-side cases. The change of protective glasses for each employee is planned to perform once in every three months. It is planned to send 6 million UAH, for providing workers with safety glasses, in 2015. At the moment it was invested 1, 2 million UAH in purchase of safety glasses.
Also, the Works consistently allocates funds for improving of emergency situation reaction at the Works, for accident prevention, for improvement of working conditions, repair of sanitary rooms, offices and lockers, for purchasing of domestic and industrial air conditioners. For this purposes, within 8 months PJSC “Zaporizhstal” has sent about 70 million UAH.
