Within the framework of social program “We are the city” in Zaporozhye started a social project “Steps toward Health”. Authors created a medical, educational web site, dedicated to children health; also they organized media-center for upgrading qualifications of doctors and for parents’ enlightenment. The project is a winner of contest “We are the city” and received a grant from PJSC “Zaporizhstal” in the amount of UAH 58 thousand.
Medical educational project "Steps toward Health" is being implemented on the initiative and with the participation of scientists of Zaporozhye State Medical University in collaboration with doctors of Zaporozhye City Children's Hospital № 5. The initiative aims to assist parents in the formation and preservation of children’s health during different ages - from newborn to teenager.
Professional web-site (https://babykrok.com.ua) is focused on new and future parents, teenagers, pregnant women. It enables online communication with pediatricians and family doctors. On the site, you can get advice on the health of children of all ages, preparation for childbirth, incubation, breastfeeding, and child nutrition.
Also, as part of the project, on the basis of Zaporozhye Children’s Hospital № 5, a medical educational media center was created. It has modern means of video-communication, with the help of which online lectures of leading pediatrician specialists from around the world will be organized for medical students and pediatricians, as well as teaching of new diagnostic and treatment methods of diseases in children. In addition, it is planned to conduct lectures for parents concerned with child health on a regular basis.
