The management of the Works warmly congratulated the chief of the board — general director of Zaporizhstal JSC Vitaliy Antonovich Satskiy with his 60th anniversary of labour activity.
After graduating from the Dnepropetrovskiy Metallurgiacal Institute, V.A. Satskiy’s entire life was devoted to the development of domestic metallurgy. Starting as a roller of the rolling shop at “Krivorozhstal,” he rapidly escalated to the peak of professionalism and management, eventually becoming the chief engineer of this metallurgical giant.
In the 80s, Vitaliy Antonovich became head of the All-Union scientific and research institute “Mekhchermet.” Following this, he was appointed as the chief of the republic society “Ukrmetallurgprom,” which centralized the management of the entire steel production in Ukraine—accounting for about 40% of the total metallurgical industry of the former USSR.
Almost a quarter of a century has passed since Vitaliy Antonovich connected his activity with our enterprise. Zaporizhstal JSC owes much of its prosperity to the creative energy, encyclopedic knowledge, and talent of this person, both in management and in the creation and step-by-step implementation of the program for the technical re-equipment of the basic capacities of our Works.
V.A. Satskiy’s exemplary personal qualities have been particularly highlighted during the crisis periods faced by the country and the industry. His remarkable moral courage and ability to make the right decisions have ensured the preservation of the Works' potential and workforce.
His significant contributions to the development of domestic metallurgy have been recognized with numerous awards, titles, and academic degrees. V.A. Satskiy was among the first in our country to be honored with the Title of Hero of Ukraine. This, along with the Yaroslav Mudriy's order recently bestowed upon him, has become a source of pride for the 20 thousand-strong workforce led by Vitaliy Antonovich. His name is synonymous with hope for the future for every employee of the Works. Therefore, every Zaporizhstal worker and veteran sincerely wishes their dear leader, Vitaliy Antonovich Satskiy, strong health and inspiration for continued successful endeavors for the prosperity of the Works and the Zaporozhye region.
