The head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Office, Yuriy Malashko, paid a working visit to Zaporizhstal. Roman Slobodianiuk, General Director of Zaporizhstal, and Oleksandr Myronenko, CEO of Metinvest, took part in the meeting with the head of the region.
General Director of Zaporizhstal, Roman Slobodianiuk, briefed the head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Office on the work of the enterprise in conditions of military aggression. The head of the plant noted that currently the enterprise continues to operate at half of its own capacity. In order to keep the team and continue to support the country’s economy, the metallurgists found a solution in a complete reorganisation of logistics. In 2022, despite all the difficulties of wartime, Metinvest’s Zaporizhzhia site paid UAH 3.4 billion in taxes and fees to the consolidated budgets of Ukraine, of which UAH 820 million went to local budgets.
Chief Operating Officer, Oleksandr Myronenko, briefed the head of the region on the amount of aid provided by Metinvest to the defenders of Zaporizhzhia region as part of Rinat Akhmetov’s Steel Front military initiative. In particular, Metinvest regularly delivers mobile shelters, protective gear, drones, special equipment and other supplies to defenders who protect Ukraine and Ukrainians on the front line.
Yuriy Malashko discussed with the management of Metinvest and Zaporizhstal prospective areas of cooperation to improve the level of civil defence. In particular, the head of the region focused on the need to study the mass production of a multifunctional protective module for equipping civilian shelters near social infrastructure facilities that do not have bomb shelters. A similar pilot model of a civil shelter has already been developed by Metinvest engineers and is being tested.
As part of the working meeting, Yuriy Malashko also visited the production sites of Zaporizhzhia enterprises of Metinvest.
