According to the 2007 results the Works has achieved the following technical and economical performance:
Production amounted to:

Pig iron — 3mln 563.8 thousand tons;

Steel — 4mln 456.5 thousand tons;

Rolled products — 3mln 728.0 thousand tons;

Realization of commercial goods amounted to 8.8 billion UAH.

Financial result before tax liability amounted to 739.0 million UAH;

Availability of own circulating assets amounted to 1.5 billion UAH.
For the year 2007 the sales of rolled products in the domestic market amounted to 41.7% from the whole shipment. 58.3% was exported, including 16.3% to CIS countries, and 42.0% was exported to non-CIS countries. Products were shipped to 66 countries of the world.
The Works net profit after taxes in 2007 amounted to 553.8 million UAH.
The Works completely and in due time settles its payments to the budget and extra-budgetary fund. In 2007 the taxes, dues and fees amounted to 633.3 million UAH.
The average Works’ staffing number for 2007 increased in comparison with last year by 46 and amounted to 20 222 persons.
The average salary of one Zaporizhstal worker amounted to 2 573.61 UAH, which is higher than last years salary by 21.6%. The salary is paid to workers in due time.
In 2007, as in the previous years, work has been continuously done regarding improvement of the technological process and retooling and modernization of the main and auxiliary aggregates to increase their productivity, to improve the technical level and quality of the products, to reduce raw material, fuel and energy resources consumption.
The largest and most effective measures taken were the following:
On sinter and blast furnace production:

Delivery of equipment for the new sintering machine with sintering area 75m2 instead of the existing 62.5m2 was accomplished.

Works on air aspiration from the discharging parts of sintering machines Nos.1-6 were accomplished.

Work, foreseen by the second start-up complex of capital repair and modernization of blast furnace No.2 on power facilities: replacement of turbo generator No.1, turbo blower No.1 and boiler aggregate No.3, continued.

2nd degree capital repair of blast furnace No.5 was fulfilled.

To realize the programme on power saving a contract was concluded on equipment delivery of a blast furnace PCI unit.
On steel melting production

Project documents on reconstruction of steel melting production with transfer to a converter method of steel production were implemented. Jobs were carried out on construction preparation.

The new oxygen unit for air separation, with capacity up to 60 000 m3/hour was put into operation.
On rolling production
In hot strip mill rolling shop

In December 2007 the intermediate coiling device “coil-box” in the ‘1680″ continuous hot strip mill line was put into operation.

A complex of jobs was accomplished providing rolling of hot rolled strips with minimum thickness less than 2.0 mm.
In cold rolling shop No. 1

Since October 2007 high quality products are being produced on slitting unit No.5 of firm “Danieli’.

Construction works were accomplished, assembling of equipment of the12 block of heat-treatment bell-type furnaces, designed by the institute “UkrNIIelectroterm”, is being carried out.
In 2007, for the accomplishment of running and capital repairs of equipment, reconstruction, modernization and capital construction, the Works spent 948.8 million UAH.
The Works pays great attention to the social development, material stimulation of Zaporizhstal workers and rendering of financial help. The Works spent 152.5 million UAH on these targets in 2007.
