For increasing of production efficiency, the PJSC “Zaporizhstal” has introduced at the Steel Works the automated traffic control for motor transport based on GPS processing technique. In particular, 265 automobiles of the Steel Works are equipped with the GPS monitoring system, data of which are integrated into united controllable system. Cost of introduction of the automated traffic control system for motor transport has composed around 660 thousand hryvnas.
The traffic control system for motor transport consist of distributed structure of gathering, processing, storing, visualisation of information about location and condition of the motor transport, which is used at the Steel Works. The system raises efficiency of operating management over motor transport operation, helps to optimise usage of cars in real time mode, helps to supervise routes of cars and speed of their movement. Under estimation of experts, the introduction of GPS-traffic control system will reduce operating costs for motor transport usage at “Zaporozhstal” Steel Works on 10 % and will allow to introduce system of indicators for working efficiency of the drivers.
Earlier, the GPS-control system on locomotives and servicing terminals was introduced at the PJSC “Zaporizhstal”, which has allowed to reduce expenses on consumption of diesel fuel, economic effect composed around 3 million hryvnas.
