For increasing of production efficiency, the PJSC "Zaporizhstal" has introduced at the Steel Works the automated traffic control for motor transport based on GPS processing technique. In particular, 265 automobiles of the Steel Works are equipped with the GPS monitoring system, data of which are integrated into united controllable system.Cost of introduction of the automated traffic control system for motor transport has composed around 660 thousand hryvnas.

The traffic control system for motor transport consists of a distributed structure for gathering, processing, storing, and visualizing information about the location and condition of the motor transport, which is used at the Steel Works. The system raises the efficiency of operating management over motor transport operation, helps to optimize the usage of cars in real-time mode, and enables supervision of car routes and the speed of their movement.

According to experts, the introduction of the GPS-traffic control system will reduce operating costs for motor transport usage at "Zaporozhstal" Steel Works by 10% and will allow for the implementation of a system of indicators for the working efficiency of the drivers.

Earlier, the GPS-control system on locomotives and servicing terminals was introduced at the PJSC "Zaporizhstal", which has allowed for a reduction in expenses on diesel fuel consumption, resulting in an economic effect of around 3 million hryvnias.
