PJSC «Zaporizhstal» has concluded participatory contract with the Ukrainian representative office of company Primetals Technologies Austria Gmbh – Primetals Technologies Ukraine and the largest designers of industrial facilities in Ukraine and CIS countries – GP «UKRGIPROMEZ» and UkrNTS “ENERGOSTAL” – on execution of design and survey works and working out of design and estimate documentation for construction of the complex on production of hot rolled coils consisting of converter department, Compact Strip Production (CSP) department and auxiliary facilities. The total sum of the contract on designing composes around 100 million UAH.
In August 2015, PJSC «Zaporizhstal» has completed the first stage of oxygen-converter plant construction (hereinafter – LD plant). The basic engineering executed by com-panies Primetals Technologies Austria GmbH and SMS Siemag, which are the world leaders in sphere of manufacture of the industrial equipment. The total value of the Steel Works expenses on realization of the basic engineering has made 8,5 million euro. Basic engineering of LD plant is a background for the design works and it determines the initial data and parameters of the process equipment for the fu-ture industrial complex, which includes converter department and Compact Strip Production (CSP) department
Along with that, since December 2014, PJSC «Zaporizhstal» has started preparation and clearing of the territory intended for construction of the oxygen-converter plant, which is located in territory of gulch Markusova (so-called «city dumping site»). At present more than 300 thousand tons of materials and waste material is carried out from this territory. The project also foresees construction of new bypass road and creation of green zone at the expense of the Steel Works.
According to conditions of the concluded contract, the design and sur-vey works and working out of the design and estimate documentation by companies Primetals Tech-nologies Ukraine, GP «UKRGIPROMEZ» and UkrNTS “ENERGOSTAL” will be executed within 6 months.
Let us remind that the project of steelmaking reconstruction foresees construction of the complex for production of hot rolled coils with output of 5 million tons a year consist-ing of converter department, Compact Strip Production (CSP) department and auxiliary facilities. The amount of investments into the project is over 1,3 billion dollars. The construction of the converter plant will allow the Steel Works to refuse completely from out-of-date open-hearth process production and essentially to lower technogenic loading on environment. The expected decrease of atmospheric emis-sions will achieve level of 25 % from total emissions of the Steel Works.
