As a part of development of Iron and Steel Works “Zaporizhstal” cooperation with education institutions of Zaporozhye the excursion for the faculty members of Zaporozhye State Engineering Academy took place at iron and steel works.
The excursion program included the visit to the main production shops of “Zaporizhstal” — open-hearth furnaces shop, slabbing mill and hot strip mill. The faculty members had possibility to ask questions they were interested in and to communicate face-to-face with specialists of metallurgy during the excursion. The personnel of iron and steel works shared job-related experience and answered relevant questions of faculty members who give the theoretical learning to the students directly.
“Face-to face communication with the specialists of metallurgy and demonstrating of processes and technologies of metallurgical production will help the faculty members in their professional activity. We are ready to keep on strengthening co-operation with education institutions and to conduct excursions not only for faculty members, but also for students” — mentioned Human Resources Director of Iron and Steel Works “Zaporizhstal” Andrei Luchenko.
At the present time 59 students of Zaporozhye State Engineering Academy undergo pregraduation practical training at “Zaporizhstal”. These students are potential employees of iron and steel works. It will be recalled that more than one thousand students of higher and specialized secondary educational establishments undergo practical training at Iron and Steel Works “Zaporizhstal” annually.
