“Zaporizhstal” Steel Works as a part of technological modernization strategy of Metinvest Group is fully put into operation a new gas-cleaning equipment on the sintering machine №2. Investments in construction of the gas cleaning for sinter machine №2 were about 80 million UAH.
A new gas cleaning equipment of sinter machine №2 enables to achieve air purification from dust on the European standards level – up to 50 mg / m3 and for sulfur dioxide – below 400 mg / m3.
“We have achieved European environmental standards for gas cleaning of sinter machine №2 by combining the efforts of professional Ukrainian mechanic engineers and high-performance German technology,” – the CEO of “Zaporizhstal” Steel Works Rostislav Shurma mentioned.
Construction of the gas cleaning for sinter machine №2 was carried out by specialists of the Ukrainian company LLC “Progress Group” (Berdichev machine-building plant “Progress”) as well as by equipment and process solutions of the company REITZ (Germany).
Operating principle of the new gas cleaning of sinter machine №2 is multistage purification of exhaust gases: the gas is cleaned in two bag filters; collected iron-containing dust from the bag filter goes back to sintering production. Within the framework of the project it was installed two bag filters, draft equipment consisting of three machines: axial fan, exhaust fan and exhauster.
At the moment, “Zaporizhstal” Steel Works has started construction of a new gas cleaning equipment to the rest of sintering machines – №3-6 that enables to achieve international environmental standards on the level of dust cleaning and gas emissions.
