Rostislav Shurma, the General Director of “Zaporozhstal” Steel Works has held today a meet-ing with nine heads of higher, secondary and special educational government agencies of city Zaporozhye concerning preparation of specialists in the field of metallurgy. The ques-tions of development of system of the higher and secondary special professional education, the problem on preparation of specialists who are in demand in metallurgical industry were discussed in the course of the talks.
The principal directions of further cooperation of “Zaporozhstal” Steel Works with leading educational institutions of the region in respect of preparation of the prospective specialists for work at the in-dustrial complex also have been pointed out during the meeting. The Works is ready to assist edu-cational institutions in occupational guidance activities in schools, professional lycees and colleges on selection of the best graduates for sending them to higher education institutions, carrying out of guided tours for schoolboys to the main manufacturing departments, in organization and carrying out of master classes by the chief executive officers of JSC “Zaporozhstal” for students of Zaporozhye higher education institutions, the State Engineering Academy (ЗГИА), National (ЗНУ) and National-Technical (ЗНТУ) universities.
“We are interested not only to retain traditions on cooperation with the higher education institutions, colleges and lycees, we wish to strengthen them even more. And in this direction we have already made the first steps — 1052 students have passed practical training at the Works in 2012, and in 2013 we plan to increase number of trainees more than in 1,5 times”, — pointed out Rostislav Shurma, the General Director of JSC “Zaporozhstal”.
More than thousand students of the higher and secondary special professional educational institutions of city Zaporozhye annually are passing on practical training at “Zaporozhstal” Steel Works. After completion of study, the best graduates obtain employment at “Zaporozhstal” Steel Works. Thus, 700 graduates of educational institutions obtain employment in 2010-2012 at the Works. Along with that, students of professional lycees (ЗППЛ and ЗПМЛ) pass salaried practical training at the Works. The amount of such payments by “Zaporozhstal” Works in 2012 has made 440 thousand hryvnas.
