“Zaporizhstal” Integrated Iron and Steel Works is committed to ecological sustainability, actively participating in discussions about eco-taxation and environmental measures.
“Zaporizhstal” Integrated Iron and Steel Works participated in the research and practice round table which was held on the 21st of March at the premises of the Classic Private University. The topic of the discussion was “Current state and development prospects of eco-taxation in Ukraine.”
The event was organized with the participation of the Ministry of Revenue and Duties of Ukraine, Institute of Economy of Industry of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Donetsk), Zaporizhzhya branch of the Institute of Economy of Industry of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine at the Classic Private University, Zaporizhzhya regional office of the Ukrainian Advocates’ Association, Ukrainian Bar Association, and the Financial Law Research Institute.
The key discussion topics at the round table were the achievement of stable environment-friendly development in Ukraine, improving the efficiency of resource payments management in Ukraine, and legal regulation of eco-taxation in Ukraine.
The participants of the round table pointed out the successful experience of “Zaporizhstal” Integrated Iron and Steel Works in the field of environmental measures, considering the active implementation of environment-oriented modernization projects of the Works. “Implementation of the environmental measures is of great importance to the Works; it is a priority in the activity of our enterprise. Hundreds of millions of hryvnyas, invested by the Works into the implementation of environmental measures such as the construction of the new hydrochloric acid pickling line, reconstruction of the blast furnace No.4, and erection of the gas-cleaning plant for sinter machine No.2 provide significant ecological effect for the whole region,” stated Inna Kholina, head of the environmental protection department of “Zaporizhstal” Integrated Iron and Steel Works.
