The seminar for the cultural representatives of Zaporozhye, organized by the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation for Development of Ukraine in collaboration with integrated iron and steel works “Zaporizhstal,” took place on May 29, 2013. The focus was on addressing modern challenges in culture.

About 60 representatives of regional and city departments of culture, municipal institutions, and public organizations from Zaporozhye and surrounding areas (Tokmak, Melitopol, Berdyansk, Primorsk) participated in the educational seminar.

The moderator of the meeting, Olesya Ostrovskaya-Lyuta, manager of the course “Dynamic culture” at the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation for Development of Ukraine, provided attendees with insights into the foundation’s projects and programs available for professional cultural communities of Zaporozhye and its region. The foundation is currently implementing two programs—“i3” and “Dynamic museum”—which are part of the “Dynamic culture” course. Ostrovskaya-Lyuta emphasized the necessity of having a clear and realistic project proposal and budget to secure grants. During the seminar, she shared valuable knowledge about writing design proposals in the cultural sector and the opportunities available to participants.

Throughout the seminar, attendees engaged in discussions, posing questions to the foundation representative about modern culture, visual arts, and the multifaceted nature of culture. Ostrovskaya-Lyuta stated, “The goal of the meeting is to foster closer cooperation among organizations and cultural operators from different regions. We aim to involve as many cultural organizations and creative individuals from Zaporozhye as possible in the foundation’s grant programs and expand opportunities for creative development.”

Irina Konoryeva, the director of the department of culture, tourism, nationalities, and religions at Zaporozhye regional state administration, remarked that the iron and steel works “Zaporizhstal” is a socially responsible enterprise contributing to the regional development in various aspects. The seminar, organized in partnership with the foundation, aims to stimulate the future development of cultural events that will cater to the cultural needs not only of the Zaporozhye region's population but also of Ukraine as a whole.
