Metinvest Group of Rinat Akhmetov and Vadym Novinsky is arranging shelter places for internally displaced people from the hottest spots of Ukraine, particularly from Mariupol. Six hundred evacuated Ukrainians have been received at the company’s social facilities.
Volunteers of Rinat Akhmetov’s and Vadim Novinsky’s Metinvest meet and take care of everyone who needs support at the company’s social facilities in Zaporizhia. People are provided there with medical care, food, and worry about household issues. Most of them continue to evacuate to other regions, inland. Conditions for comfortable accommodation of up to 1,000 internally displaced people at a time have been created at social facilities of Metinvest in Zaporizhia.
In addition, Metinvest’s Humanitarian Coordination Center assists the regional authorities to arrange 2,000 beds at temporary accommodation facilities for internally displaced persons who had to leave their homes in the zone of active hostilities. To this end, the Center purchased 2,000 mattresses
“SCM businesses and the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation coordinate and combine their efforts to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe in Ukraine. At the humanitarian hub based at Zaporizhstal, we form and send humanitarian kits to the victims. We provide places of temporary accommodation for Ukrainians from cities where a real tragedy has unfolded due to Russian aggression, in particular from Mariupol. We are waiting for everybody in Zaporizhia and do everything possible to help our compatriots”, noted Olexandr Myronenko, Head of Metinvest Humanitarian Coordination Center in Zaporizhia and General Director of Zaporizhstal of Metinvest Group.
In total, in the cities where Metinvest Group operates, 6,000 temporary accommodation facilities have been organized for people affected by Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine.
