On 28 October 2018, the 2nd Zaporizhstal Half Marathon took place. Run Ukraine Company acted as the organizer with support from Zaporizhstal, the title sponsor. In the half marathon, over 1700 runners participated, and over 5000 fans supported the runners.
– 2018 is a landmark year for Zaporizhstal: the works celebrates its 85th anniversary, and within a year we supported and arranged many interesting activities. The Zaporizhstal Half Marathon became a bright final point in celebrations new for the city. The half marathon has shown that Zaporozhye is not just an industrial heart of Ukraine, but also a city with great sports potential,” - Zaporizhstal General Director Rostislav Shurma emphasized.
Among the running participants were Zaporozhians as well as running amateurs from all of Ukraine and eight countries around the world. Participants' ages ranged from 7 to 71 years. Half marathon runners remarked on the picturesque route, high level, and quality of event arrangement, and they thanked the fans for their warm emotional support.
Among the sports teams, Zaporizhstal had the largest participation, with 252 employees taking part in the main, relay, and other distances.
