“Zaporizhstal” JSC continues the modernization of the basic funds, emphasizing the maximum protection of the environment against the influence of the metallurgical production. On the 9th August the General Director of the “Zaporizhstal” JSC Rostislav Shurma held a staff conference at the building site of the Blast Furnace No.4.
At the moment, the blast furnace production of the “Zaporizhstal” JSC has in its disposal 3 Blast Furnaces No. 2, 3, 5.
Rebuilt project of the Blast Furnace No.4 provides the building of the aspiration devices from the charge supply to the bed.
Ecological effect — is the reduction of the dust emission 1540 t/y.
According to forward estimates the volume of the requisite investments is about 500 mln/year.
The investments, assures the General Director of the enterprise, will pay their own way thrice. It will be a modern furnace with the volume more than one and a half thousand square meters and with the productivity — about a million tons of iron per year.
As stated by the General Director of the plant, Rostislav Shurma, BF – 4 is one of the top-priority sites of the “Zaporizhstal” JSC. In front of the builders and contracting organizations of the “Zaporizhstal” JSC there is a problem — to finish all the erection works and in the second half of 2013 to bring the renovated furnace into operation.
The Blast Furnace No.4 was stopped for repair on the 23rd of December, 2008.
