On May 28, 2018 in Zaporozhye, for the first time, a large-scale family holiday “Yaskraviy Zabig (Bright Race)” was held. The organizers of the race were the National Club of Amateur Athletes with the financial support of Zaporizhstal.
“Yaskraviy Zabig” is a world-famous format for a fan race for short distances, where the main attribute is the colorful paints of holi, which are sprinkled over athletes and the track. Running competition in Color Run format was held in Zaporozhye for the first time and was timed to coincide with the 85th anniversary of Zaporizhstal. The race gathered a record number of participants – more than 2000 people.
For professional athletes and runners, there were tracks available for 2.5 and 5 km, for children – 200 and 400 m. In Voznesenovskiy park on the cascade of fountains “Raduga”(Rainbow)”, for the guests of the festival a fan zone with a live broadcast of the race was organized, for children – children’s animators worked and master-classes were performed.
The corporate team of Zaporizhstal took active part in the event – more than 200 employees of the enterprise together with their families overcame the distances.
As a result of the race, the first three finishers of distances for 2.5 and 5 km received cash certificates, besides, the memorable gifts were competed among the participants of the race.
