In celebration of the Day of the Metallurgist and Miner, Zaporozhye’s Metinvest Group enterprises, including Zaporizhstal, Zaporozhkoks, Zaporozhogneupor, and Zaporozhye Foundry and Mechanical Plant, hosted a large-scale celebration for the community.
On July 14, at the cascade of fountains "Raduga" in Zaporozhye, a grand celebration took place. The main concert square hosted interactive locations for families, featuring master classes, attractions, quests, competitions, and food courts with free meals for children, alongside karaoke with Igor Kondratyuk and performances by bands A.R.M.I.A and Bad Boys Blue.
A standout event of the city holiday was the parade of labor dynasties from Zaporozhye enterprises. Fourteen dynasties, with a combined work experience ranging from 70 to 200 years, proudly carried a 15-meter Ukrainian towel, symbolizing the reliability and strength inherent in the metallurgist profession.
Guests of the celebration were greeted by the General Director of Zaporizhstal, Rostyslav Shurma, who stated:
"Today is a holiday for strong and strong-willed people. Metallurgy is the business of a whole lifetime for those who have taken upon themselves the great responsibility - to keep on their shoulders the economy. Thanks to their professionalism, everyday work, strength of spirit, and courage, today there is a future for Ukrainian metallurgy and for the Ukrainian economy."
In the lead-up to the holiday, Zaporizhstal honored 200 workers with certificates, orders, valuable gifts, and prizes. Two workers, agglomerate worker Igor Kovtunov and metal heater Vyacheslav Safonov, received the company's highest accolade—the Gold Star of Metinvest—along with a bonus of 100,000 hryvnias each. The golden stars are awarded to the best employees who demonstrate exceptional professionalism and achieve significant results for the enterprise and the company. Ceremonial meetings featured a cultural program, and material assistance was provided to the veterans of the enterprise.
