Metinvest Group Enterprises of the city of Zaporozhye recently announced the start of the sixth season of the social initiatives contest "We are city", reinforcing their commitment to enhancing community engagement and development.
On April 11, 2018, the sixth season of the contest of social initiatives «We are city» of the “Zaporizhstal” steel works kicked off. In 2018, the Grant fund of the contest was increased to 4.3 million UAH, thanks to the participation of Metinvest Group Enterprises of the city of Zaporozhye, including "Zaporozhogneupor", "Zaporozhkoks", and “Zaporozhye casting-mechanical plant”.
Representatives of public organizations, municipal institutions, and enterprising residents of the city participated in the solemn presentation of the contest. During the event, trainings on social design and panel discussions were held, featuring well-known Zaporozhye experts in key areas of the contest.
"The very idea of the contest lies in its name - only together can we make the city of Zaporozhye better. Citizens of Zaporozhye are increasingly involved in processes focused on positive changes in the city, and the city-forming enterprises provide comprehensive assistance and financial support to the best initiatives," said CEO of PJSC “Zaporizhstal” Rostislav Shurma.
Participants can submit their applications in three areas: "Improving the infrastructure of the city", "Culture, education, sports", and "Volunteering and patriotism." The maximum funding for each project is up to UAH 100,000.
It is worth mentioning that the contest of social initiatives «We are city» has been held annually since 2013. During this period, Zaporozhye citizens have submitted 946 applications to the contest, out of which 157 of the best have been implemented. The grant fund for this period amounted to 10 million UAH.
All realized projects within the framework of the contest «We are city» can be viewed on the Google_MEG map available on the contest website https://wearecity.zp.ua. The map indicates each of the 157 projects implemented from 2013 to 2017, inclusive, and contains a brief reference about each project including its name and essence, along with photos.
