Zaporizhstal of Metinvest Group successfully passed surveillance audits of its integrated management system for compliance with international standards on quality ISO 9001:2015, environmental management ISO 14001:2015, occupational health and safety ISO 45001:2018, as well as a recertification audit for energy management ISO 50001:2018.
Auditors from Bureau Veritas Certification Ukraine inspected the technology used in product manufacturing, the conditions for operating and maintaining the plant’s equipment, compliance with workplace safety rules, and all accompanying documentation. Auditors from Technical and Management Services LLC, a corporate partner of certification company TÜV SÜD, confirmed the team’s systematic work on implementing lean and energy-efficient solutions in production.
The inspections were carried out in the sinter, blast furnace, and open-hearth shops, as well as in the hot and cold rolling mill shops and the auxiliary and energy subdivisions. The auditors highlighted the plant’s systematic focus on customer orientation, effective cross-functional cooperation between services, a high level of compliance with industrial safety principles in production, and the rational use of energy resources.
Following the audits, Zaporizhstal was recommended for the extension of its certificates for compliance with quality standards ISO 9001:2015, environmental management ISO 14001:2015, occupational health and safety ISO 45001:2018, and was also issued a certificate confirming compliance with the energy management system standard ISO 50001:2018.
It is worth noting that Zaporizhstal has been certified and has regularly confirmed its compliance with the international quality management system standard since 2003. Since 2008 - with international standards for environmental management systems, occupational health and safety, and industrial safety.
It is worth reminding that in January this year Zaporizhstal confirmed that its hot-rolled and cold-rolled products comply with EN 10025-1:2004 (Annex ZA), Regulation 305/2011/EU, and EN 10130 standards. The certificate was also extended to cover hot-rolled steel products from steel suitable for flanging and bending in a cold state, opening up new opportunities for supplying such products to the European market.
