In 2025, Metinvest's enterprises in Zaporizhzhia, namely Zaporizhstal, Zaporizhzhia Refractories, Zaporizhcoke, and Metinvest Machinery (formerly Zaporizhzhia Casting and Mechanical Works), transferred almost UAH 4 billion in taxes and fees to budgets at all levels in Ukraine, which is 34% more than in 2024.
A major part of the payments comprised the single social tax, personal income tax, environmental tax, and military levy. As a reminder, in April 2025, Metinvest raised salaries for employees of its production and service enterprises, including those in Zaporizhzhia, by up to 20%, which further increased the tax revenue base generated by the enterprises.
Metinvest Group's companies consistently rank among the largest taxpayers in Zaporizhzhia: last year, local budgets received over UAH 1.2 billion, which is 19% more than in the same period in 2024. Despite the challenging economic situation, Metinvest and its enterprises in Zaporizhzhia additionally implement educational projects, support the development of veteran policy in the city and the rehabilitation of veterans and active service members, and contribute to the restoration of infrastructure damaged by shelling.
"Taxes paid by our enterprises are a real source of strength for the state and local communities. Since the start of the full-scale war, Metinvest's enterprises in Zaporizhzhia have allocated more than UAH 11.6 billion in taxes to the state treasury. These revenues make it possible to support the operation of the city's social infrastructure, which sustains Zaporizhzhia's vital functions despite its proximity to the front line, constant hostile attacks, and the losses they entail. In wartime, paying taxes is not a formality, but a direct contribution to the resilience of the country and its ability to withstand today and recover in the future," emphasised Taras Shevchenko, Acting General Director of Zaporizhstal, Hero of Ukraine.
In 2025, Metinvest, including associates and joint ventures, paid UAH 18.7 billion in taxes and fees to the budgets of all levels in Ukraine. In total, over nearly four years of the full-scale invasion, the Group has paid approximately UAH 74 billion in taxes, strengthening the country's economic capacity amid the full-scale war.
