Zaporizhstal of Metinvest Group continues implementing its support program for employees whose homes were damaged due to enemy shelling. The financial support provided has reached UAH 3.4 million, with 151 employees receiving assistance.
A dedicated internal hotline, which has been operating since the first days of the full-scale invasion, accepts employee applications. Initially, emergency repair teams from the plant helped with urgent repairs, and later the support program for employees affected by shelling was expanded. Depending on the extent of damage to their homes, workers receive financial assistance for repairs and the opportunity to stay at the company's social facilities while their own homes are being renovated.
Among the program participants is Maksym Kulkov, a mechanic-repairman of hot rolling shop at Zaporizhstal, whose apartment was damaged during an enemy attack on the city. The blast wave destroyed windows, damaged the balcony and doors, and caused cracks in the walls and ceiling. The Zaporizhstal employee used the financial aid from the company to purchase building materials, replace windows and doors, and restore the heating system.
"My apartment was damaged shortly before the cold weather, so installing windows and doors was a priority to keep the place warm. The enterprise promptly helped by providing funds for building materials and double-glazed windows. This support once again confirmed that we are one industrial family where nobody is left behind, especially when troubles come. I am sincerely grateful to my enterprise for the help!" said Maksym Kulkov.
Viktor Krasilshchyk, a mechanic-repairman of water supply shop, also had his home severely damaged by enemy shelling: partially destroyed walls, broken windows and an almost completely wrecked roof. Initially, Viktor and his family stayed at the Zaporizhstal dormitory, and he used the funds provided by the plant to improve living conditions for his family.
Amid the full-scale war, Metinvest Group remains one of the largest employers and taxpayers in Ukraine. The company is doing everything possible to preserve and support its labour teams during these challenging times.
