Zaporizhstal of Metinvest Group took first place as the largest employer in the Zaporizhzhia region according to the Opendatabot ranking.

The ranking is based on an analysis of Ukrainian enterprises' financial statements as of the end of 2025. Zaporizhstal, which is also included in Opendatabot's index, became the leader in its region by the number of employees, exceeding 8,000 workers.

The enterprise operates under full-scale war conditions, providing jobs for thousands of employees and specialists in related industries, ensuring regular payment of salaries and social benefits. Zaporizhstal remains one of the economic drivers of the region and a major exporter. It contributes to filling the local budget and supports the social resilience of communities. Over 2025, the enterprise paid nearly UAH 2.7 billion in taxes to budgets at all levels.

"The status of the largest employer in the region is primarily not about figures, but about the responsibility of the enterprise, which has been shaping the history of steelmaking in Ukraine for more than 90 years. In the frontline city, Zaporizhstal preserves jobs in the mining and metallurgical complex and related industries, supports the region's stability, ensures income for the national economy, and makes a significant contribution to the country's export capacity, which is essential for the reconstruction of Ukraine," said Taras Shevchenko, Acting General Director of Zaporizhstal, Hero of Ukraine.

Zaporizhstal systematically develops training and retraining programmes, creating opportunities for the professional growth and development of young specialists. For them, there are incentive initiatives such as "Steel Future" and "First Job." The enterprise also offers programmes for the employment and reintegration of war veterans.

Zaporizhstal also placed second in the Opendatabot ranking "Best Enterprises of Ukraine ‒ 2026" in the "Processing Industry" category. The index is based on a comprehensive analysis, including data from state registers and databases of Opendatabot, financial statements, information on relations with Russia, sanctions lists, and other analytical tools. The evaluation takes into account both financial results for 2025 and business reputation.
