Metinvest Polytechnic's Open Day brought together around 200 applicants and their parents at the "Unbreakable Hub" of the Orbita Cultural Centre. The event served as a platform to introduce young people to Ukraine's first private mining and metallurgical university, which combines European educational standards with practical training.

Participants learned about the university's educational programmes licensed by Ukraine's Ministry of Education and Science, including metallurgy, mining, automation, digital technologies, energy, ecology, occupational safety, business analytics, and management. University representatives shared information about learning opportunities, financial incentives, international internships, and career development prospects.

"Education is available both on a contractual basis and with funding from Metinvest. For company employees, their children, and students willing to work at Metinvest enterprises during and after their studies, we offer corporate sponsorship that fully covers tuition costs. Based on academic performance, students receive scholarships comparable to other universities. Additionally, top students may qualify for the Metinvest CEO's scholarship," said Vadym Pukhalskyi, Head of Development Department at Metinvest Polytechnic.

This year, quotas and benefits for specific categories of applicants, particularly internally displaced persons, will be maintained. Veterans and certain privileged categories have simplified admission requirements, without the need to take the External Independent Testing (for bachelor's programmes) and the Unified Entrance Exam (for master's programmes).

The university offers international internship opportunities for outstanding students and research work at laboratory and production facilities in Ukraine and abroad.

A highlight of the event was the interaction with current students who are simultaneously pursuing their education and building successful careers.

"Having studied at Metinvest Polytechnic for two years now, I can confidently say—this education truly works. There is no excessive theory here, everything is as close to production as possible. From the first year, we work with modern equipment, solve real industrial cases, and intern at enterprises. It is not just an education but an opportunity to build a career right now. The support from Metinvest, scholarships, and international internships are especially impressive. I am already working as a lead power engineer at Zaporizhstal, and I know for certain this is just the beginning of my professional journey," shared Denys Tymoshenko, a Metinvest Polytechnic student and Zaporizhstal employee, during his presentation, during his performance.

Zaporizhstal guarantees employment for Metinvest Polytechnic graduates and offers young professionals additional opportunities, motivation, and development programs.

"We offer paid internships to the best student trainees and provide young professionals with development tools through our career reserve formation programme and professional growth opportunities across Metinvest Group enterprises, including participation in the plant's youth organization projects. For young professionals who choose Zaporizhstal or other Metinvest enterprises as their first workplace, we've implemented the 'First Workplace' incentive program. It ensures comfortable workplace adaptation, training, various support programs, and a bonus of UAH 50,000 in addition to salary and bonuses during the first year of employment. Currently, 122 employees have joined the programme, with the fund exceeding six million hryvnias," summarized Oleh Shpykovskyi, Head of HR Department at Zaporizhstal.
