Metinvest Group has been recognized as the largest taxpayer in the steel industry in 2024 according to NV's ranking. The company paid UAH 19.8 billion in taxes to all levels of the Ukrainian budget.

A significant portion—over 15%—of the total contribution came from Metinvest's assets in Zaporizhzhia. In 2024, Zaporizhstal, Zaporizhzhia Refractories, Zaporizhcoke and Zaporizhzhia Casting and Mechanical Plant collectively contributed approximately UAH 3 billion in taxes and fees to budgets at all levels.

Metinvest Group's enterprises remain among the largest taxpayers in Zaporizhzhia. Local budgets received over UAH 1 billion in 2024.

The media sent requests to over 170 private companies and banks, asking them to specify the amount of taxes paid to budgets at all levels in 2024. The ranking was created based on the information received.

According to NV's survey, almost 80 of Ukraine's largest private companies and banks paid UAH 466.5 billion in taxes to local and state budgets last year.

Philip Morris became Ukraine's largest private taxpayer, contributing UAH 52.2 billion to budgets of various levels. DTEK took second place with UAH 41 billion. BAT rounded out the top three in this category with UAH 38 billion.

In the steel industry, ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih followed Metinvest in second place with tax payments of UAH 6.6 billion. Last year, Interpipe contributed UAH 5.5 billion to the budget, while Ferrexpo AG paid UAH 3.1 billion. DCH with UAH 2.3 billion and Centravis with UAH 548.7 million completed the top six. In total, the steel industry enterprises directed UAH 37.8 billion of tax deductions to the state budget.
