IN 2014, THE “ZAPORIZHSTAL” STEEL WORKS HAS FULFILLED ALL SOCIAL OBLIGATIONS TO THE LABOUR COLLECTIVE

The joint conference of administration and trade-union committee on summarising of execution of the collective agreement for 2014 has taken place at the “Zaporizhstal” Steel Works on April 22nd, 2015. All actions out of 138 foreseen by the Collective agreement for 2014 are realized.

Rostislav Shurma, CEO of the “Zaporizhstal” Steel Works, Valery Gavrilenko, the Vice-President of the Central Committee of the Trade union of metallurgists and miners of Ukraine, Leonid Anisimov, the Chairman of the trade-union organisation of the “Zaporizhstal” Steel Works, Heads and trade-union activists of the shops and departments of the Steel Works have taken part in the conference.

Rostislav Shurma, the CEO of the Steel Works has noticed during the meeting, that despite of all difficulties of recession year 2014, the Steel Works has managed to maintain full package of social guarantees to employees and veterans of the Steel Works. Under conditions of difficult social and economic situation, the total growth of salary at the Steel Works during 2014 has made 27,8 % (average salary for 2013 amounted to 5887,51 UAH., and for 2014 amounted to 7521,87 UHA.). Starting from April 1st, 2015 the next increase of salaries for all employees on the average of 23 % has taken place at the Steel Works.

The Steel Works in 2014 has completely fulfilled all guarantees on health promotion of the employees, support of veterans, culture and sports development and payment of all kinds of welfare assistance, rendering of targeted help to the socially unprotected categories of inhabitants associated with the enterprise.

“It is necessary always to put ourselves into position of each person and try to understand, how he should work and how he should live. Always, under any circumstances, it is necessary to meet the labouring person halfway. I am convinced that all social obligations which the Steel Works has made, all to the last will be fulfilled”, – has stated Rostislav Shurma, CEO of the “Zaporizhstal” Steel Works.

Thus, in 2014 the Steel Works has directed around 16 million UAH on organisation of health-improving season for employees, children and veterans. Around 7 thousand employees, 800 veterans and more than 1 thousand children of employees of the Steel Works have passed summer health improvement in 2014. The medical services for the sum over 8,3 million UAH were rendered to employees of the enterprise according to the contract concluded with multi-field hospital “VitaCentr”. The employees of the Steel Works were paid for the pharmaceuticals up to 2000 UAH for one person according to health insurance agreements.

The “Zaporizhstal” Steel Works annually allocates around 10,8 million UAH for support of veterans. It should be noted that the collective agreement in force at the Steel Works time and again was recognized as the best in mining and metallurgical industry.

One of the priority directions of social policy of the “Zaporizhstal” Steel Works is creation of comfortable working conditions for employees of the Steel Works. The work on improvement of working welfare started at the Steel Works in the middle of 2012. In 2012, the investments have made 920 thousand UAH, in 2013 – 2,2 million UAH. 10,2 million UAH were directed in 2014 on improvement of working welfare objects. In total, in 2014 during realisation of the Program, the major repairs, reconstruction and modernization was done at 36 objects of working welfare with total area of 2,8 thousand square meters. Among these objects, there are household buildings, rooms of shift meetings, food intake rooms, household rooms, sanitary-and-hygienic premises of the production Shops of the Steel Works.
