PRODUCTS OF “ZAPORIZHSTAL” STEEL WORKS WERE RECOGNIZED AS THE BEST IN THE COUNTRIES OF CENTRAL AND EASTERN EUROPE.

The 10th International tournament on quality of manufactured products among the biggest producers of countries of Central and Eastern Europe was held under the auspices of national organizations for quality of Central and Eastern Europe countries and Ukrainian Association for Quality. The honorary international award was handed in to Rostyslav Shurma, General director of “Zaporizhstal” Steel Works by Herman van Rompey in the presence of leaders of national organizations for quality, representing nearly 30 countries of Europe.

“This international recognition confirms not only the quality and competitiveness of Zaporizhstal metal products, actually, this is the recognition of competitive capability of Ukrainian industry at the world markets”- said Rostyslav Shurma, General director of “Zaporizhstal” Steel Works.

 

 

During the awarding ceremony, Herman van Rompey pointed out: “ The victory of “Zaporizhstal” clearly show the socially conscious attitude to all parties concerned. Only ever-improving companies, who manufacture the products of high quality, and in system- related manner pursue the challenging issues of ecological modernization of production process, could expect to succeed in the global world.”

 

 

 

The Integrated system of management in the field of quality, energy efficiency, labor safety and ecology, complying with the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and ILO-OSH 2001 international standards is in effect at “Zaporizhstal” Steel Works at the present time. The strong points of integrated management system are the following: arranging of goal oriented planning, based on key performance indicators, directed on motivation of employees; high involvement of personnel into the process of continuous improvement of production; active modernization of production, providing package of technological solutions on improvement of quality of products and significant decreasing of ecological loading on the region.
