PJSC «Zaporizhstal», within the social responsibility, financed purchasing of the important control-and-diagnostic equipment (pulse oximeters) for Zaporozhye Municipal Multifield Children’s Hospital No. 5. The cost of the devices made up over UAH 50 thousand.
Three pulse oximeters will be applied in the anesthesiology and intensive medical therapy department for the new-born babies, as well as in the infectious-box ward for infants. A pulse oximeter is the medical control-and-diagnostic device applicable for noninvasive measurement of oxygen saturation level in capillary blood (blood oxygen saturation). There are plenty of pathologies, the course of which is accompanied with hypoxia – chronic lack of oxygen in blood. In such a case, the index of oxygen saturation in blood requires continuous monitoring.
Let us remind that PJSC «Zaporizhstal», in 2014, had invested about UAH 4 million in restoration and medical equipment of the infectious-box ward for infants in Children’s hospital No.5 in Zaporozhye city. Those funds were used for repair of the building of the hospital unit of total area about 1220 m2, complete updating of the power supply and electricity systems, air conditioning, water supply and sewer systems, heating system as well as for purchasing of the modern medical equipment.
We should note that in 2015, the Works allocated UAH 3.4 million aimed at repairs performing and equipment purchasing for 16 medical institutions of the region.
