PJSC”Zaporozhstal” within the framework of social responsibility, in system related manner, supports the development of physical training and sports in Zaporozhye region. In 2015, the Steel Works allocated 14 million UAH for these purposes.
Among the directions of system related sponsorship- maintaining and development of Sport Complex “Zaporozhstal” (10,3 million UAH), Yacht club (1,7 million UAH), support of sports organizations and leading athletes of the region, arrangement at the premises Sports Complex events of interest, training sessions and competitions of different level (around 2 million UAH).
Taking into consideration that PJSC ”Zaporozhstal” Sports Complex is the biggest sports facility in the region for arranging of All Ukrainian and International competitions, Steel Works consistently invest funds into its development. In 2015 Steel Works invested 6 million UAH for the modernization of heating system of Sports Complex and repair of the building’s roofing.
“Zaporozhstal” Steel Works on a regular basis provides support to sports organizations in the region – free of charge Sports Complex premises for the training sessions of Specialized Children and Youth Sports School of the Olympic Reserve in track and field athletics, to athletes with reduced capabilities “Invasport” and other sports organizations. In 2015 around 700 thousand UAH was allocated for these purposes. Besides, in 2015 the Steel Works allocated funds for arrangement of summer training sessions, and also rehabilitation actions for children- trainees of Zaporozhye Regional Center of physical culture and sports “Invasport” for handicapped persons.
We remind, that in April 2013 “Zaporozhstal” Steel Works signed the Memorandum on cooperation with Federation of track and field athletics of Ukraine. Memorandum provides for the creation of material and technical facilities for the training sessions and competitions of high level in the Sports Complex, support of lead athletes of the region. In 2013-2014 PJSC ”Zaporozhstal” allocated for the support and development of sports more than 21 million UAH (2013-8,5 million UAH, 2014 – 12,8 million UAH), which includes, within the framework of fulfilment of Memorandum on cooperation with Federation of track and field athletics of Ukraine, the Steel Works allocated 7,2 million UAH (2013 – 3,5 million UAH, 2014 – 3,7 million UAH) for updating of track and field Sports Complex.
