Metinvest Group of Rinat Akhmetov has donated $500,000 to a dedicated charity fund for the purchase of protective ammunition and first-aid kits for the Zaporizhia Territorial Defence Forces.
“By uniting for the sake of defending the independence of Ukraine and Ukrainians, we are bringing victory closer. The Army and the Territorial Defence Forces protect civilians, and we are trying to protect and support them in fighting for the sovereignty of the state, our freedom and independence,” said Oleksandr Myronenko, head of the Metinvest Humanitarian Mission Coordination Center in Zaporizhzhia and General Director of Zaporizhstal.
It should be noted that Vadim Novinsky Foundation also transferred $500,000 to support the Zaporizhia Territorial Defence Forces. The total contributions transferred to the Zaporizhia Charitable Trust Fund will be used to purchase body armour, ballistic helmets and NATO-standard medical kits for defenders.
Metinvest Group of Rinat Akhmetov and Vadim Novinsky has been supporting the Ukrainian Armed Forces and Territorial Defence Forces in the cities where the Company operates since the first days of the war. Since the beginning of the war, over 35,000 anti-tank hedgehogs have been made from Metinvest steel, as well as spiked chains against wheeled vehicles and anti-landing hedgehogs. Construction of the city’s fortifications continues with the Company’s support. Metinvest enterprises provide heavy special vehicles and motor transport for the needs of defenders, as well as fuel, batteries and radios.
