Three winner-projects of contest “We are the city”, which is arranged by “Zaporizhstal” Steel Works for the development of social services of Zaporozhye and the whole region were implemented this week.
The initiative, proposed by Charity Fund “Svitlozyr” is directed for providing medical aid to veterans and lower- income citizens, suffering from cataract. The Grant of 100 thousand UAH, which was allotted by “Zaporizhstal” Steel Works on implementation of the project “ In order to read books and work on computer – save your sense of vision!”, would make it possible to carry out 100 operations free of charge.
The second idea, which had been materialized, within the framework of the contest “We are the city”, – is the arrangement of practice ground in the open air in education/brining up complex “Zaporozhskaya Sech”. Grant for implementation of this project amounted to 100 thousand UAH.
– Sports and commitment to healthy lifestyle are very important to day, we want that youngsters grow up healthy and active,- said Sergey Ilchenko, the Head of youth organization of “Zaporizhstal” Steel Works. Steel Works would continue to encourage the development of youth of the region.
The third project, which had been materialized this week, within the framework of the contest “We are the city”, is the one and only culture-historical complex on Khortitsa island. This is the Cossak forge unit, nearby the famous Zaporozhye oak tree. The initiator of its setting up, is the VOO ”All Ukrainian federation Spas”. Zaporozhye citizens and guests of the city could become familiar with one of the traditional Cossak crafts, after visiting the forge unit. “Zaporizhstal” Steel Work rendered assistance to the project designer by grant in the amount of 57 thousand UAH.
– Setting up and operation of forge unit would have salutary effect on tourist image of Zaporozhye, and also promote the patriotic education of youth and development of Ukrainian culture,- said Alexander Prytula, “Spas” president.
