January 27 based on the sports complex of the PJSC “Zaporizhstal” “Metallurg”, the Ukrainian Team Championships in Track and Field Athletics athletics was launched. The venue is not chosen by chance. Track and field athletics arena is the official training base of the Ukrainian national team in track and field athletics. The sports complex has all necessary conditions for holding such a high-level competitions. The First Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, Igor Gotsul, started the event.
More than 400 athletes from all corners of Ukraine compete in running for different distances, pole-vaulting in length, shot put, all-around and other disciplines. Sports holiday lasts 3 days.
In April 2013, PJSC “Zaporizhstal” signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Athletics Federation of Ukraine. The Memorandum provides for the creation of the necessary material and technical base for high-level training and competitions in the sports arena support for the region’s leading athletes. In 2016, the works financed for the sports needs 12 million UAH.
