The All-Ukrainian Combat Martial Arts Festival “Kozatsky Gart” was held already for the sixth time in Zaporozhye. The main sponsor of the event was Zaporizhstal Works, and as participants of the sports festival noted, this year the festival acquired the largest scale.
To compete in strength and skills, about two thousand children from different cities of Ukraine came to Zaporozhye. The youngest participants are of 5 to 6 years old. Young Cossacks competed in such combats as Greco-Roman, freestyle and women’s wrestling, judo, taekwondo, combat sambo, hand-to-hand fighting – indicative style and others.
– This event is really a landmark event for Zaporozhye, – said deputy Ruslan Bozhko at the opening ceremony of the festival. – One of the highlights of our city – is the story that our ancestors, Cossacks, laid down. And by this festival we once again confirm that Zaporozhye is the capital of martial arts of Ukraine. I am pleased to welcome the athletes of the ten martial arts gathered in the glorious arena, which was provided by Zaporizhstal Works.
The winners will be determined in each kind of martial arts, in different weight classes. All participants of the festival will receive prizes and gifts.
