The heads of Zaporizhstal – CEO Aleksandr Mironenko and the directors of areas – held an interactive meeting with students of Zaporizhzhia universities – Metinvest scholarship holders. The meeting was ded-icated to the future of metallurgy, prospects for the development of the Works, opportunities for self-realization that the company provides to its employees.

On May 18, 2021 at the hub of public organization “Zaporizhzhia. Platform for Joint Action”, a meeting was held between the CEO of the Zaporizhstal Steel Works Aleksandr Mironenko and directors of the enterprise with students who receive scholarships from Metinvest Group for their achievements.

The scholarship holders discussed with the CEO of the Works the issues of concern and shared their ideas for the development of the metallurgical industry. One of the most important topics that the students were interested in was employment at the Zaporizhstal Steel Works and other Metinvest enterprises. The company, that celebrates its 15th anniversary this year, has long established itself as a responsible and promising employer with high wages, social benefits, health insurance and free space for development and self-expression.

Zaporizhstal has a wide program of support for young specialists, that includes a number of motivational projects. For example, if in his first year a young employee has proven himself, then he will be paid a one-time bonus, $ 400, for good work and initiative. It is extremely important that every young employee who comes to the enterprise is assigned a mentor who helps to adapt and enter the work rhythm in a new place. We are very interested in young people coming to work for us, staying at the enterprise and moving up the career ladder, – said Aleksandr Mironenko, the CEO of Zaporizhstal.

The second, practical part of the meeting was a workshop with the directors of the Works. Each of the students received a unique opportunity for practical interaction and lively dialogue with the entire leadership team.

Let us remind that more than 400 best students of Zaporizhzhia who study at the specialized faculties of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University and the Zaporizhzhia National University, were awarded personal scholarships from Metinvest in 2020. The scholarship program operates within the framework of a memorandum of cooperation between Metinvest and universities signed in May 2019. In 2020, Metinvest allocated UAH 5.4 million to pay scholarships to the best Zaporizhzhia students.
