Within the framework of the social initiative competition “We are the city” which organized by PJSC Zaporizhstal for the fifth time, an online voting was held, in which every indifferent resident of Zaporozhye can take part. The winner of voting, which received the title “People’s Project”, became the project of Khortitsa National Academy “Movement is Life”.
The authors of project plan to establish on the territory of Khortitsa National Academy a children’s play complex, adapted for children with disabilities, for the purpose of psychological and physical adaptation.
On the portal of the contest “We are the city” https://www.wearecity.zp.ua online was available from April 27 to May 8. Each registered person could choose the project he liked from 84 semi-finalists and give his vote in his favor. In total, over 14,000 people voted online.
Later the project, which received the title «People’s Project», along with other semifinalists, will pass through a stage of open presentations on May 10, 11 and 12, 2017. Based on this results winners will be determined who will receive money grants of up to 100 thousand UAH for the implementation of their projects. In 2017, PJSC “Zaporizhstal”, with the participation of PJSC Zaporizhkoks and PJSC Zaporozhogneupor, increased the fund of the contest to 3 million UAH.
Let us remind that the fifth season of the contest “We are the city” started on March 2, 2017. For all Zaporozhye citizens who want to take part in the contest, the Works conducted three training courses in social design, which were attended by more than 300 members.
This year a record number of applications was submitted for participation in the competition. From 279 applications, experts selected 84 semi-finalists, who continue to compete for the realization of their ideas for the benefit of the city and its citizens. The winners of the contest “We are the city” will be announced on May 26.
