The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation Transferred 2800 Rapid Tests for Ambulance Medical Workers of Ternopil Region

The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation transferred 2800 rapid tests for medical workers in Ternopil region. They are intended exclusively for emergency crews.

“Rinat Akhmetov allocated 300 million UAH to fight COVID-19. Monetary means are aimed at covering the most important medical needs of our country; these needs were specified in coordination with the Ministry of Health. We need to be proactive, in order to prevent the epidemic and especially such tests allow us extremely quickly define the COVID-19. Therefore, the Foundation purchased and transferred to the regions 300,000 rapid tests for the diagnosis of patients. However, the tests are no less important for the medical workers themselves, especially for the ambulance crews, who were in the most vulnerable risk group. Therefore, another 20,000 tests for health care workers were additionally purchased and delivered to Ukraine. The Foundation has already transferred part of this assistance to medical workers in Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Vinnytsia regions. ”, said Natalia Yemchenko, a member of the Supervisory Board of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation.

According to her, the Foundation is not the first to help the field of emergency medicine. In 2019, in the framework of the project “200 Ambulances for Ukraine”, many modern ambulances were received in all regions of the country. Therefore, in Ternopil region there are four unique vehicles, which health care workers call as “resuscitation on wheels.” Ambulance crews on three off-road vehicles come to patients even in the most inaccessible areas. The region also received a neonatal ambulance car, where ALV devices were originally installed. In the context of the coronavirus epidemic, it has become particularly needed.

Deputy Head of the Ternopil Regional State Administration Viktor Ustenko noted the importance of this assistance:

“Today, there is an emergency situation in our country and it is very important that everyone join in to help the state in fight with the epidemic. Thanks to the big business for responding.”

The head of Public Health Department of the Ternopil Regional State Administration, Vladimir Bogaychuk spoke about active assistance to the region not only during the pandemic:

“The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation provide us with ambulances, personal protective equipment, and rapid tests. Thank you for helping, understanding the situation, joining in good deeds. “

According to the director of the Ternopil Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine, Mikhail Dzhus, today it is especially important to prevent the virus spread among the ambulance workers and thanked the Foundation for its close cooperation.

“We started working with the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation in 2019 and we received the ambulances. They are all equipped with modern medical equipment. During the pandemic, we have some difficulties regarding personal protective equipment. I thank the Foundation for helping us with new ambulances and special thanks for the rapid tests we received today. ”, said Mikhail Yaroslavovich.
