In February, 2013, «Zaporizhstal» II&SW increased the performance volume of all product types as compared with February, 2012, iron production growth made up 3%, steel –7%, rolled stock – 14.3%.
In February, 2013, the production volume metrics showed significant improvements. The following table outlines the various parameters:
Parameter description | February, 2012, thousand tons | February, 2013, thousand tons | February, 2013, to February, 2012, thousand tons | February, 2013, to February, 2012, % |
Iron production volume | 240.4 | 247.6 | 7.1 | 103.0 |
Steel production volume | 275.6 | 294.8 | 19.1 | 106.9 |
Rolled stock production volume | 216.0 | 247.0 | 31.0 | 114.3 |
In February, 2013, simultaneously with the growth of production volumes, there was also an increase in production efficiency indices. Notably, the consumption of natural gas in steel making production was considerably reduced compared to the same period last year. The minimum consumption of natural gas was 33.4 m3 per ton of produced steel, compared to 42.4 m3 per ton in February 2012. This reduction allowed for a savings of more than 3 million m3 of natural gas per month.
