The competition "We are the city" on the best social projects among public organisations, municipal authorities, and citizens is carried out in Zaporozhye successively for the second year. In 2014, "Zaporizhstal" Steel Works has increased financing of the competition up to 1 million UAH, compared to 700 thousand UAH allocated in 2013. This initiative aims to foster community engagement and support social projects that enhance the well-being of Zaporozhye residents.
The competition will pass in three stages: training of the participants and filing of applications, consideration and examination of projects, deciding the winners, and realization of the most interesting and perspective offers.
The training has been organized for the participants during the first stage, with Denis Denisenko, the head of one of the programs of Rinat Ahmetov’s charity fund "Development of Ukraine," addressing the attendees. The trainer informed participants about the basics of social project planning, including analysis and problem formation, identifying the needs of target groups, setting practical aims and problems, and planning the action budget.
"The competition 'We are the city' is a great initiative where the investor allocates funds and citizens bring important projects for Zaporozhye to life using their own hands. This training aims to unite the experience of social investments we have accumulated and teach participants how to transform money into real value for citizens," noted Denis Denisenko.
The experiences gained during the training will aid participants in developing and implementing the best ideas generated by Zaporozhye citizens, aimed at improving the quality and comfort of the region's social environment under the program "We are the city."
Among the participants of the training are charity fund "Svitlozir," charity fund "Smile of the child," the team "ROCK'N'ROPE," as well as representatives from various public, charitable, and youth organizations, library system staff, educational institutions, and individuals involved in culture and arts, including art, music, and sports schools.
